Whose house?

Psalm 26

Where have you set up home in your heart? What is the picture that this Psalm paints regarding ‘where your home is? Consider v8 as the focal point for the psalm and whether you can say,  “I love to dwell (habitate) in your house… Where your glory dwells”? The consequence of that is in v6 & 7 in that you’ll shout, sing, declare his praises aloud!

Jesus says, in Revelation 3:20: “behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with me”

What a picture! Jesus invites us & desires that we make him our home!

In the rest of this psalm we can see the difference between the character of living with the Lord in your heart and the opposite – living without!

As I reflect on this, I can’t help but wonder what my life is characterised by, hopefully if Jesus is living at the centre of my life then this will reflect through everything I do!

Where is your home? What is the character of how you are living because that will reflect in how we live our lives!

Do you hear Jesus knocking on the door of your heart? Will you open the door today and allow him to have habitation in your heart?

Therefore, spend sometime thinking about how you might live today in away that shows who is at home in your heart? And how is the natural consequence reflecting out in our everyday life? My prayer, is simply to let my life proclaim aloud the praises of the wonderful ways of the Lord which comes out of daily dwelling in his presence.  Let today be a day to discover deeper what it means to have Jesus living in the home of your heart! Let Jesus have habitation in your life today & learn to LOVE it and SPREAD IT!!
