Where are you searching?

Psalm 70:1 (NIV), Psalm 70:3-5 (NIV), Psalm 95:7-8 (NIV)

The world is in turmoil, economies are crumbling and it seems the talk of the town to be who’s got the deepest pockets?

Consider the contrast in this Psalm of David:

On the one hand you have people looking on to King David’s life mocking and taunting him (v2,3) – whereas on the other King David’s personal response is to look to his God for help! (v1,5)

What is the key to a properous life, to know real peace and hope? Well its not in trusting councel or listening to mocking words it is in the seeking out and searching for the reality of the living God! “But may all who search for you be filled with joy… May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “God is great!”” (v4)

Where are you searching for hope today?
Are you listening to the mocking or Godless voices around you?
If you are worried and concerned today search for hope in the right places, instead, listen out for and deeply search for the living God!

How? (v5)
1. Realise your need. Turn too the one who can help!
2. Look to the cross, Jesus took on your guilt and set you free so you can know life!
3. Do not delay! As the scripture says, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart as you did in times of rebellion… Today is the day of your salvation! (Ps. 95:7,8)
