Have you ever had one of those days? The kind that it may start well or not but by the end of it you’ve felt so unproductive wondering what the heck you’ve achieved?(2 Peter 1)
When do you feel productive? Think for me it’s when you get that sense of real achievement, satisfaction of something accomplished.
Peter talks here about some keys to being productive (v8) or at least stop us from being ineffective or unproductive!
ok, what’s the keys…
1. (v4) “bestowed on us magnificient promises… so that … you may become partakers of the divine nature.” – saved with benefits, with an organic connection to the living God
2. (v5-7) because of this divine connection live in such away that drawers from the promises of God out working in your life and your character will bull doze into an unselfish love for others. See the bulldoze effect here as you make every effort to add to your faith; excellence > knowledge > self-control > perseverance > godliness > brotherly affection > unselfish love!
3. (v13-14) stir up in others that they may see Jesus Christ revealed to them and may live in His promises! Like Peter realised he is not going to be around forever so look today to pass on that to which he has given you!
So to be productive, know the promises that you’re living in a secure place, live in those promises to know the benefits of belonging to God’s kingdom. Secondly allow your life to be characterised by an increase of faith expectation that thirdly will overflow to others as you pass it on!
Father God help me today to live in the reality of your promises to me. As I go through today remind me of your promises that I may take hold and trust in you more. Help me too to see how I may pass on to others what I have received so they may run ahead even more than where I ever was or have been. In Jesus name, Amen.
