“For we are His workmanship—created in Messiah Yeshua for good deeds, which God prepared beforehand so we might walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10 TLV
When you hear destiny what comes to mind at first? Life planned out out of your control? I don’t believe that for one bit! There’s much to say in the Scripture of how much God had given us destiny, purpose and desires to do good He is clearly establishing in our hearts. I have quoted just a few key ones that came to mind as I wrote this post.
“For I know the plans that I have in mind for you,” declares Adonai, “plans for shalom and not calamity—to give you a future and a hope. “Then you will call on Me, and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”
Jeremiah 29:11-12 TLV
I believe our destiny & purpose first comes from the purposes or seed God first places in our hearts. You’ve heard children say, ‘when I grow up I want to be…” and often there comes a time that desire becomes more real although not for everyone. Although there is some glimpse of truth I am sure of the kind of career or direction our life might take.
However, consider how it is only when we submit those things to God that those desires truly give us a calling a hope and a future – whether its leaning a skill, trade for a career etc. Never under-estimate just how much God takes that which is in our hearts and gives us perhaps a different perspective. Maybe not just to make money and live well but make a kingdom difference.
For example as I consider my own journey, and how as an 18 year old I had been working in electronic assembly and test and remember one time saying to the Lord I don’t want just to be song this to my retirement. Effectivly I was saying take what i have and the skill I’m learning and maybe one day i will have a different perspective.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not turn from it.”
Proverbs 22:6 TLV
Today I see that all I did helped me support Christian radio stations and churches technically. Although that is not the major area of his purpose or call on my life and has always been even from the very beginning “champiom the next generation to go further in Christ”
So always Be thankful to where you are today. Who knows in the future where you will be. God does.
Remember also to Be thankful from where you’ve come & the experiences you have learnt that has given you more today.
“Delight yourself in Adonai, and He will give you the requests of your heart.”
Psalms 37:4 TLV
